New to MetService: Airborne Allergens

Spring is in full swing, and so are seasonal allergies. MetService has reintroduced its pollen forecast as Airborne Allergens, available on both website and app.

Each location has its own subpage on MetService.com, showing what allergens are in the air, plus info on how and why pollen affects some people more than others.

The expanded tool covers a wider range of pollen and grass types. Plus, we’ve added a new “imminent” category - signaling when an allergen is about to reach impactful levels.

The data comes from a perpetual pollen calendar developed by Dr David Fountain, Associate Professor at Massey University.

Delivered in partnership with Green Cross Health, this initiative supports our shared goal of providing science-based info to help New Zealanders make informed decisions.

Find it under your local location forecast.
