Rainfall notifications beta

From June 2026, we’re running a beta test of rainfall notifications for users on Android who are signed up to the Android Beta programme. The notifications will tell you when rain is forecast for the day. See frequently asked questions below.

    1. Open the Play Store .

    2. At the top right, tap the profile icon.

    3. Tap Manage apps and devices, then Installed

    4. Tap the MetService app.

    5. Under 'Join the beta', tap Join.

  • Go to the left side menu, then tap Notifications and Rain Notifications. You can set up notifications for your current location or your “home” location (the first location at the top of the locations menu, with a house icon). If you set up notifications for your current location, you’ll need to give the app permission to check your location while you’re not using the app, so it can keep the notification location up to date.
