Congratulations to our recent grads!
Congratulations to our students from the Pacific - Lineni Latu, Tita Mokeaki, and Tioma Bweitu who have just successfully completed our training programme to attain World Meteorological Organization certification BIP-M (Meteorology) which defines competency standards for weather professionals.
They joined us in January 2025 from Tonga and Kiribati where they are forecasters at their National Meteorological Services, to take up this training opportunity provided through the Weather Ready Pacific programme - overseen by the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP).
Lineni and Tita also completed the requirements of their Postgraduate Diplomas in Meteorology, while Tioma will gain a Postgraduate Certificate in Science majoring in geophysics, all from Victoria University of Wellington.
We wish them all the best as you head back home to put your enhanced knowledge to good use - especially during this year’s Tropical Cyclone Season (November to April).
